Chapeltown Park Fun Day for Yorkshire Cancer Research - 12th June 2010 - 11a.m. to 3p.m.

We propose to have a "car boot" type of event with cars round the bandstand with a variety of stalls such as:

• Tombolas
• Raffles
• Plant stalls
• 2nd hand book stalls
• Name the cuddly toy
• Fishing for prizes
• Toss a loop
• Cake stalls
• Sale of donated DVDs/CDs etc.....

 Farrars Fairs of Chapeltown will be bringing some small rides for children and a refreshment van.     WHY NOT HAVE STALL and do your bit for cancer research?   All proceeds to charity when essential expenses have been deducted.

 

New natural playground in Chapeltown Park - March 2010

Planning permission has been awarded for a new Natural Playground on the grassed area near the Newton Hall entrance.  We are hoping that the new playground will be started in August 2010 for completion by April 2011.             We still need more funding to cater for all age ranges as the Pathfinder money we've been allocated from the Government only covers 8-13 year olds.

Green Bond Award - Butterfly Glade - March 2010

In the spring, we will be planting plug plants in the glade and making some seating out of a large beech tree which is being felled shortly.     There will also be "stream dipping packs" available for people to borrow from Chapeltown Library and a new leaflet.
