We are so pleased that Chapeltown children will be having a new playground after so many years without decent facilities. The old playground in the woodland area is at least 50 years old and now has only 3 rusty old bits of play equipment.

Butterfly Glade in Chapeltown Woodland
The glade is situated at the bottom of Chapeltown Park near Blackburn Brook and we have cleared this to make an area for people to go stream dipping (with a special pond dipping pack available now at Chapeltown Library) - new plants, new log seating, a "hop scotch" stepping stone feature designed by children from "Chatterbooks", new interpretation panel and a woodland leaflet.
