Chapeltown in Bloom

Calling all Bloomers

The Group was formed on the 11th June 2010 with an aim to improving the Chapeltown area and making it a better place to live.

We have achieved a great deal in the 8 months we have been established and think that the people of Chapeltown will see a distinct improvement in the months to come when things start flowering.

Ecclesfield School have made us lots of planters which will be placed round the middle of the town.

One of the first things we did was take over the Millennium Garden near the Newton Hall - we have planted lots of bulbs which are already starting to flower and have cut back the bushes to make the area safer.  One of our members, Carol Oldfield, has agreed to open and close the gate when the weather is fine to allow people to use the garden and we have plans for some benches to be installed shortly.

Calling All Bloomers!

  • Chapeltown is a great place to be but could do with a little TLC; we aim to give it some.

  • Do you care about your area & live or work in Chapeltown?

  • Do you enjoy mixing with like-minded people & enjoy getting involved?

  • Do you care about the environment & wouldn’t mind sharing skills?

  • Have you the occasional hour or so to spare & would like to make new friends?

  • Do you like gardening & keeping things tidy?

  • If you can answer yes to any or all of the above questions, you are just what we are looking for.

Our meetings are at the Prince of Wales Pub at 7.00 pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month, come and talk to us

Or just turn up at the land next to Parkers, opposite the library, for our working days at 10am on the third Saturday in the month, you will be very welcome.
